Paul S. Carr III

Paul Carr was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Black Diamond, Washington.
Paul's mother was a professional short-story writer for 50 years. During careers in government and real estate, he continued writing articles, poems, and lyrics while performing in night clubs, churches, and civic venues as a singer, songwriter, musician, and voiceover artist. He has appeared in several musicals, and won poetry and novel awards in 2002 and 2003 at the Pacific Northwest Writers Conference.
His interest in writing an epic poem grew after he and his wife, Libby, began standing in for "Santa and Mrs. Claus" some years ago. They were also the Co-chairs of the Seattle Statue of Liberty Project to restore the park plaza at Alki Beach in Seattle, for which they won the City of Seattle Denny Award in 2008. They presently live in Burien, Washington.

Herb Leonhard

Herb Leonhard was born in Munich, Germany but grew up in the United States. One of his earliest memories was of a beautifully illustrated series of German children’s books. This, along with a childhood spent within the pages of comics, inevitably led to a career as an artist.
Having been a professional illustrator and graphic designer for more than twenty-five years, he has illustrated over 30 books, and won numerous awards. Yet, he remains able to observe the natural world around us with a sense of wonder; he sees every subsequent painting and drawing as a new learning experience.
